All The Makeup I Used Up in 2020

2020 has been a crazy year.. but the one thing that's kept me sane is my makeup routine. Even though I've spent all year at home, I've still worn makeup pretty much everyday, so I've still managed to use up quite a lot of products.

PRIMER

I got through 3 primers this year which I'm super happy about. I usually don't switch up my primers and will use one until it runs out.

Glossier Future Dew = £23, Nars Radiance Primer = £29, Smashbox Primerizer = £30

Total = £83

Foundation

I am terrible at using up foundations and finishing more is definitely a new years resolution of mine. I only managed to get through one this year.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation = £8.99

 Total = £8.99

Concealer

I got through 4 concealers this year and this is because at the start of lockdown no.1 I gave up on foundation.. but I found I was just using up so much concealer so went back to using a base product first.
HUDA beauty Overachiever = £24, Elf hydrating Cammo concealer = £5, Maybelline Fit me Concealer = £5.99, Revlon Candid Concealer = £6.99
Total = £41.98

Powder

Powder is another product I hardly finish. I love to mix and match and rarely see one through 'til the end. I did finish one this year which I'm taking as an achievement
Glossier Wowder = £18
Total = £18

Bronzer

Again I only finished one bronzer this year, but this bronzer hardly had any fallout and felt like it would never end!
Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk'r Bronzer - £25

Blush
I managed to use up 2 blushes this year and I pretty much used my NARS multiple stick all year, so it explains why I used it up so fast. I sometimes skip bronzer but blush is a product I can't live without.
Glossier Cloud paint =£15 , Nars Multiple Stick = £30
Total = £45

Mascara
I ted to go for mascara's that have a thicker formula, as I love the look of thick lashes... but these are the kind of mascara's that dry out quicker, so I tend to get around 4 months out of this kind of mascara.
Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara = £8.99. Clinique Chubby Lash Mascara = £21, Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara = £22
Total = £51.99

Eye Makeup
I didn't get through a lot of eye makeup this year... I didn't even hit pan on any eyeshadows. Even though I do my makeup everyday, I've hardly done any eye makeup as I'm not going anywhere ! I love doing my eye makeup though so I really want to get back into it this year.
Benefit Roller Liner = £19.50, Makeup Revolution Renaissance Liner = £5, Barry M Lid Lock Primer = £4.99
Total = £29.49
Brow Products

Normally I crank through brow products but this year I used up 2 tinted gels, 1 pencil and 1 setting gel... it's still a lot but I could have got through more!
Benefit Gimmie Brow Mini = £12, Benefit 24 hour brow setter = £22.50, Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil = £20.50, Nyx Tinted Brow Gel = £6.50
Total = £61.50

Lip Products
I'm pretty proud of the fact I finished 3 lip products this year, especially as I was on accutane until May and didn't use anything other than lip balm. My Charlotte Tilbury lipstick I've just finished after 3 years....it's made me realise I'm never going to get through all my lipsticks!
Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk = £25, Kiehl's Lip Treatment = £19.50, Elf Lip Lacquer = £3
Total = £47.50

I managed to use up £412.45 of makeup. The sad thing is I've hardly made a dent in my collection and I definitely want to try and use up more next year. I love using makeup but I want to make sure I'm using it up before it expires! There is no better feeling than finishing a product and knowing you've had so much use out of it.

June Empties

I can't believe another month has rolled around and it's time for another monthly empties review. I got through six products this month (I know, I'm proud) and it was a bit of a mix of everything; Haircare, Skincare and makeup. Firstly, I used up my La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Sensitive SPF 50 Sunscreen. This isn't my favourite SPF but it does do the job. I wear three pumps of this on my face every day and it has lasted about 3 months. I think the formula is ok it can feel a bit sticky and takes a while to sink in but it isn't my favourite but it isn't a product I don't like. I have repurchased this, because SPF is THE most important part of my skincare routine and when I ran out I knew I could run to Superdrug and repurchase this, because I did not want to go without. Secondly, I finished my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I cannot remember the last time I finished a foundation! This is, without a doubt, my favourite drugstore foundation. It bl...

July Empties

 Ahhh another month another empties blog. I actually got through quite a bit of makeup this month, which is unusual for me as it's usually skincare I crank through.  The first product I used up was my beloved Glossier Futuredew. I didn't realise how much I loved this until it was gone. My makeup feels so much different without this as a base and I do miss it as part of my makeup routine. I have a few other primers to get through but I will definitely repurchase this one in the future. The second product I used was my benefit liquid eyeliner. I did like this liner; it's opaque, the felt tip is quite nice and it lasted such a long time before drying up. I do prefer brush tipped eyeliners as I find with hooded eyes my winged eyeliner always looks a lot more precise than with a pen style. So I purchased the KVD liquid eyeliner instead, but the benefit eyeliner is great just not my favourite.  My third empty is my smash box primer water. I adore this spray, it comes out as a f...

Reviewing Bioderma's Hydrabio Range

If you've followed my blog for a few years, you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands. Their Micellar water is a product I refuse to live without and I've gone through too many to count. I was over the moon when Bioderma kindly sent me their Hydrabio Range* to try. The Hydrabio range is aimed at combating dehydrated, dry, skin, which I'm especially prone to in winter. 1. Hydrabio Makeup Removing Micellar Water Now, Bioderma's Sensibio micellar water is a holy grail skincare product in my collection. Believe it or not, I didn't realise Bioderma did other varieties of micellar water for different skin concerns. I've been using the Hydrabio micellar water for a few days and I do find my skin feels more hydrated and plump, compared to the sensibio one. It removes makeup just as well as the Sensibio micellar water and I find the Hydrabio micellar water to be a little more gentle and soothing. I would definitely repurchase the Hydrabio version in...
