October Empties

So another month has rolled by and I thought I'd update you on all the products I've cranked through.

The first product I finished up was the Glossier Moisturising Moon Mask. When I initially bought this in March I was super surprised at how small it was... but I've only just finished it, it's lasted me 5 months which I couldn't believe. I enjoyed this mask, it really helped my skin on accutane and is a great skincare product for the transition of the seasons. I do have other masks I prefer, so I don't know if I would go out of my way to purchase this again, but if I was purchasing a Glossier order... I would definitely pick one up.

Speaking of Glossier, I also finished up my wowder powder. I have had this forever... and I bought this before the shade expansion so the colour I have is a little too dark for my pale skin. If you've seen my instagram , you'll know I have a slight setting powder problem (borderline addiction) and I have way to many. So I may purchase a lighter shade at some point, but it will be when I have got through some more.

I also finished up my Elf Hydrating Camo Concealer. I didn't really realise I was using this up. I started to use this as an eye primer and before I knew it... it was gone. I used this as a concealer for a while and loved it, however, I found the longer I had it the formula almost oxidised in the packaging and turned more of an orange tone, which has never happened to me before. I don't know whether I'd purchase this again, as although I loved the formula the oxidisation really put me off.

Another product I emptied was my Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer. This concealer is full coverage and I mean FULLL. I'm not really into full coverage makeup anymore, so I kept this as a spot/scar concealer or for days when my under eyes were particularly dark. I have had this concealer for so long and when my acne was severe, I would have been lost without this. I don't think I'll repurchase this as it just doesn't fit my style anymore, but if I was looking for a full coverage concealer this would be my pick.

My Simple Water boost hydration booster also bit the dust this month. This product was ok, I didn't notice it doing that much extra for my skin in terms of hydration. I feel like all of the products in the water boost range are the same formula rebranded. The hydration booster, gel cream and sleep drench cream all feel the exact same ... so I won't be repurchasing this one again.

Finally I finished up my Bioderma Sensibo Micellar Water. If you've been around a while you'll know this is my holy grail micellar water. I was kindly sent the Hydrabio micellar water* from Bioderma which I love even more than the Sensibo formula.. but I have a back up of the original so will get through that next before purchasing more.

*Product kindly gifted

Bioderma Sensibio Range Review - PR

If you've been around for a long time you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands and they were kind enough to send me their Sensibio range to try out.  The Bioderma Sensibio Micellar water needs no introduction. It's a staple in so many makeup artists routines and it's easy to see why. I've gone through so many of these micellar waters and nothing quite compares for me. This is the foundation of my morning skincare and is just enough cleansing without stripping my face. It's such a beautiful formula that leaves my skin looking super refreshed.  I also received a few goodies I haven't tried before including the Sensibio eye contour gel . This really surprised me as I usually steer towards creams when it comes to eye cream, but I was super impressed with the gel. It feels more like a creamy gel and glides beautifully under the eyes and makes the perfect base for concealer. I've actually been using this in the morning as I find the gel i...

Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk'r Bronzer - Pale Skin Review

I had been dying to purchase one of these bronzers since they came out and after months of resisting finally caved in! There are 8 shades which is great as there is a large range to choose from, depending on how you like your bronzer. Naturally I am quite pale and for reference I am the shade 120 in the Fenty Foundation and 150 Buff in Revlon's colour stay foundation, and even in summer, I never really change that much from these shades. From being so pale, the fear of the bronzer is real, I haven't found any that look natural and don't leave me looking orange, muddy, or like i have a some kind of smudge on my face. So I decided to try the lightest bronzer Fenty Beauty had to offer, Inda Sun. From swatching the shade appears pretty neutral and light, it doesn't have a red undertone that can leave pale skin looking orange. I also love the gold packaging and how luxury and sleek it feels. I used the same brush I would normally use for bronzer which is my real tech...

How To Streamline Your Skincare Routine

Lately I have been feeling so overwhelmed with makeup, skincare and brushes and decided to take it back to basics. Having a simple skincare routine is great for your skin, cost effective and stops me changing my routine every day! I decided to make a routine and stick to it.. mainly in an attempt to stop my acne! 1. Cleanser  A cleanser is a must! Ensuring all that makeup and grime is off your face is one of the most important steps. I love this Pai, Camellia and Rose Cleanser , but it is a littttlleee expensive, another great alternative is the Nivea Daily Basics Face Wash.  If I want to make my cleanser last longer ( especially the ones that make my eyes water looking at the price ), I will just use micellar water, like the Bioderma one and a cotton pad in the morning and save my cleanser for night, but one cleanser will do the trick! 2. A Toner  Without a toner my skin feels tight and dry. The Liz Earle Skin Tonic, has been a favourite for years, it sm...
