Trying Everything That Was Recommended For My Skin At Kiehl's

Kiehl's holds a special place in my heart, it was the first high end skincare brand I ever tried! So as a gift from my beautiful Mother for my wedding, she treated me to a custom designed skincare routine from whatever was recommended to me by the Staff at Kiehl's

So to start I told them I have oily, acne prone skin, that is dry in places. They did a test and found my skin was actually super dehydrated at a level of 17% which is pretty bad! So they suggessted my skin was becoming so oily because it was over compensating for the lack of hydration in my skin. So we focused on calming the oils in my skin but also getting a lot of moisture and hydration back into my skin.

So the first product that was recommended was the midnight recovery botanical cleansing oil. I love a good oil to remove my makeup and this was more hydrating than the micellar water I had been using before. This does a great job of removing makeup and two pumps is enough to get all my makeup off including my eyes! A double cleanse was also recommended to me as the Calendula Foaming Face Wash would control my oils but not strip my skin. This was a stand out product to me that I will definitely repurchase! It leaves my face feeling super clean but not tight or dry.

For toner, It was recommended that I use the Cactus Flower and Ginseng Facial Spray. I have used this product before and I love it! I love how cooling and refreshing it feels on my face!

The next product that was recommended was a serum to really get the moisture back in! The hydro Plumping, Re texturising Serum Concentrate took my breathe away, I have never felt a serum like it. It is really cooling and absorbs into my skin super quickly! I need the teeniest amount to cover my face and neck and my face feels so much plumper.

Ahhh Kiehl's Avocado eye cream. Truth be told this wasn't even recommended to me! I just couldn't leave it there because it is my favourite eye cream in the world. I love how smooth and creamy it is and a pot will last you forever.
Last on the list was the Calendula Serum Infused Water Cream. This was a new launch for Kiehl's and is a pretty pricey product, but it feels so luxurious and rich when I put this on! It really is a gorgeous moisturiser for dry skin. A great dupe of this at a fraction of the price is the Water Gel Moisturisers from Neutrogena's Hydro Boost range. Both products feel very similar and have the same effect on the skin!
Overall, The products that were recommended to me were spot on, they really did a great job at controlling my oils whilst hydrating my skin! When I went back to Kiehl's for a re-assessment, my skin hydration levels had risen to 49% in a matter of weeks! There are a few products that I would find cheaper alternatives for like the cleansing oil and the moisturiser. But it is safe to say I have found a few skincare holy grails!

June Empties

I can't believe another month has rolled around and it's time for another monthly empties review. I got through six products this month (I know, I'm proud) and it was a bit of a mix of everything; Haircare, Skincare and makeup. Firstly, I used up my La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Sensitive SPF 50 Sunscreen. This isn't my favourite SPF but it does do the job. I wear three pumps of this on my face every day and it has lasted about 3 months. I think the formula is ok it can feel a bit sticky and takes a while to sink in but it isn't my favourite but it isn't a product I don't like. I have repurchased this, because SPF is THE most important part of my skincare routine and when I ran out I knew I could run to Superdrug and repurchase this, because I did not want to go without. Secondly, I finished my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I cannot remember the last time I finished a foundation! This is, without a doubt, my favourite drugstore foundation. It bl...

July Empties

Ahhh another month another empties blog. I actually got through quite a bit of makeup this month, which is unusual for me as it's usually skincare I crank through.  The first product I used up was my beloved Glossier Futuredew. I didn't realise how much I loved this until it was gone. My makeup feels so much different without this as a base and I do miss it as part of my makeup routine. I have a few other primers to get through but I will definitely repurchase this one in the future. The second product I used was my benefit liquid eyeliner. I did like this liner; it's opaque, the felt tip is quite nice and it lasted such a long time before drying up. I do prefer brush tipped eyeliners as I find with hooded eyes my winged eyeliner always looks a lot more precise than with a pen style. So I purchased the KVD liquid eyeliner instead, but the benefit eyeliner is great just not my favourite.  My third empty is my smash box primer water. I adore this spray, it comes out as a f...

Reviewing Bioderma's Hydrabio Range

If you've followed my blog for a few years, you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands. Their Micellar water is a product I refuse to live without and I've gone through too many to count. I was over the moon when Bioderma kindly sent me their Hydrabio Range* to try. The Hydrabio range is aimed at combating dehydrated, dry, skin, which I'm especially prone to in winter. 1. Hydrabio Makeup Removing Micellar Water Now, Bioderma's Sensibio micellar water is a holy grail skincare product in my collection. Believe it or not, I didn't realise Bioderma did other varieties of micellar water for different skin concerns. I've been using the Hydrabio micellar water for a few days and I do find my skin feels more hydrated and plump, compared to the sensibio one. It removes makeup just as well as the Sensibio micellar water and I find the Hydrabio micellar water to be a little more gentle and soothing. I would definitely repurchase the Hydrabio version in...
