First Time Trying Milk Makeup

I cannot tell you how long I have waited to try Milk Makeup, I have longed for the minimalist sticks for so long and when it dropped that Milk were launching on Cult Beauty, I pulled up a chair and waited for the launch. I purchased the bronzing stick and the Blush stick in Werk, but also got the free sample bag, which contained three things to try!

1) BRONZING STICK - BLAZE
I had seen so many rave reviews on this bronzer and thought it would be rude not to try. I got the shade Blaze and although this is the darkest shade it works really well on my pale skin tone as a contour without looking to orange or warm. This blends like a dream, it takes about 5 seconds to blend this in and it sits beautifully on the skin without becoming patchy, which is always my main concern for cream products. ill definitely be buying the lighter shade to try in summer!

2) LIP + CHEEK - WERK
I had no intention of buying anything other than the bronzer but... it was bound to happen and I'm glad it did. I got a mini version of this in the sample bag so will keep that for travelling. This is such a gorgeous formula, it's pigmented but not that over the top powdery blush colour. The finish reminds me of Glossier's cloud paints, in that slightly dewy flushed barely there colour. The colour werk is a beautiful dusty rose that looks so natural!

3) KUSH MASCARA
Ahhhh.. I was so excited about this product, the fact it is made with Cannabis Oil was something that really interested me as I was looking for some good lash conditioning! But I really did not get on with this, although it applied beautifully at the start, separating my lashes and giving natural volume, it went everywhere... by 1pm I looked like a panda and not a cute one! This smudged so badly I had to take my concealer off and reapply it under my eye. There are so many cheaper alternatives for mascara that work well and have oils that will condition your lashes like the Total Temptation Mascara from Maybelline. If you're going to spend money on Milk Makeup, the sticks are absolutely worth buying!

4) BLURRING STICK
This also came in my free sample bag and it was a product I had considered buying but just couldn't bite the bullet. In the last couple of weeks I've started to move away from primer and stick to moisturisers that leave my skin smooth, but this really shocked me. As someone with acne and scarring, not only did it blur my skin, but it left a really smooth base for makeup. After using this my makeup went on like an absolute dream, no creasing, no cakey spots and it looked seamless. I got so many comments on how flawless my skin looked throughout the day and the only difference was the use of this bad boy. I love this product and will be purchasing the bigger size ASAP!

June Empties

I can't believe another month has rolled around and it's time for another monthly empties review. I got through six products this month (I know, I'm proud) and it was a bit of a mix of everything; Haircare, Skincare and makeup. Firstly, I used up my La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Sensitive SPF 50 Sunscreen. This isn't my favourite SPF but it does do the job. I wear three pumps of this on my face every day and it has lasted about 3 months. I think the formula is ok it can feel a bit sticky and takes a while to sink in but it isn't my favourite but it isn't a product I don't like. I have repurchased this, because SPF is THE most important part of my skincare routine and when I ran out I knew I could run to Superdrug and repurchase this, because I did not want to go without. Secondly, I finished my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I cannot remember the last time I finished a foundation! This is, without a doubt, my favourite drugstore foundation. It bl...

July Empties

Ahhh another month another empties blog. I actually got through quite a bit of makeup this month, which is unusual for me as it's usually skincare I crank through.  The first product I used up was my beloved Glossier Futuredew. I didn't realise how much I loved this until it was gone. My makeup feels so much different without this as a base and I do miss it as part of my makeup routine. I have a few other primers to get through but I will definitely repurchase this one in the future. The second product I used was my benefit liquid eyeliner. I did like this liner; it's opaque, the felt tip is quite nice and it lasted such a long time before drying up. I do prefer brush tipped eyeliners as I find with hooded eyes my winged eyeliner always looks a lot more precise than with a pen style. So I purchased the KVD liquid eyeliner instead, but the benefit eyeliner is great just not my favourite.  My third empty is my smash box primer water. I adore this spray, it comes out as a f...

Reviewing Bioderma's Hydrabio Range

If you've followed my blog for a few years, you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands. Their Micellar water is a product I refuse to live without and I've gone through too many to count. I was over the moon when Bioderma kindly sent me their Hydrabio Range* to try. The Hydrabio range is aimed at combating dehydrated, dry, skin, which I'm especially prone to in winter. 1. Hydrabio Makeup Removing Micellar Water Now, Bioderma's Sensibio micellar water is a holy grail skincare product in my collection. Believe it or not, I didn't realise Bioderma did other varieties of micellar water for different skin concerns. I've been using the Hydrabio micellar water for a few days and I do find my skin feels more hydrated and plump, compared to the sensibio one. It removes makeup just as well as the Sensibio micellar water and I find the Hydrabio micellar water to be a little more gentle and soothing. I would definitely repurchase the Hydrabio version in...
