Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray Vs. Mac Fix +

Some may say setting sprays aren't an essential step and are just an extra way of ensuring your makeup doesn't move... For me, setting sprays are life or death. Without a good setting spray my makeup just won't last. Full Stop. In my opinion the Urban Decay All Nighter and Mac Fix + are two of the best, but which is the best ? Which is the number one setting spray worth a splurge on?

THE COST
UD ALL NIGHTER  - 118ml for £24.00. It is pretty pricey for a spray, but you do get more product in the Urban Decay Spray than the 100ml in Mac Fix Plus.
MAC FIX + - 100ml for £19.00. This is still up there in price, but is not as expensive as the Urban Decay one. I actually prefer the size of this because I can take it in a liquids bag on a plane, without having to purchase a travel sized one, like I do for Urban Decay.

STAYING POWER
UD ALL NIGHTER - Both of these products provide really good staying power, and do make makeup last longer. The product claims that your makeup will last 16 hours and stop makeup sinking into fine lines... This does not make your makeup last 16 hours. It's such a bold claim and it probably makes my makeup last around 8 hours, which is still good but only half the time they claim. It also doesn't stop my makeup sinking into my fine lines around my mouth or forehead and I still notice them to the same level as when I don't use the spray.

MAC FIX + - Because my face turns into a disco ball, I opted for the mattifying Fix + to stop my face turning into a greasy mess! Now although it does not state how long this will make your makeup last, it claims to give a really nice finish to your makeup and I find it stops my makeup from sliding off my face. My face only begins looking greasy after about 10 hours! Yes! 10 hours! I know if I have a long day ahead, Mac fix+ is my go to and will not let me down. It stops my makeup creasing and going cakey in the day.

MAKEUP TRANSFER
A makeup product that is transfer proof feels like trying to find a Unicorn... I want to believe it exists, but feel like I will never actually find it. In reality, no matter what foundation or setting spray I use, I can guarantee I am ruining my fiancé's new white shirt by getting a dirty great big foundation mark on it. Neither of these sprays will make your makeup completley transfer proof. If anything I would say the Mac Fix + makes my makeup transfer a little bit less than normal.

Overall ... For me the Mac Fix + wins everytime, I love the way it sets my makeup, removes that powdery look from my face and makes my makeup last! I have used Urban Decay's All Nighter Spray religiously since I was 16... 3 whole years. But it was only when I discovered Mac Fix + I realised there were better options out there, that would make my makeup last longer! It is a really close call but Mac Fix + just has that edge for me!

June Empties

I can't believe another month has rolled around and it's time for another monthly empties review. I got through six products this month (I know, I'm proud) and it was a bit of a mix of everything; Haircare, Skincare and makeup. Firstly, I used up my La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Sensitive SPF 50 Sunscreen. This isn't my favourite SPF but it does do the job. I wear three pumps of this on my face every day and it has lasted about 3 months. I think the formula is ok it can feel a bit sticky and takes a while to sink in but it isn't my favourite but it isn't a product I don't like. I have repurchased this, because SPF is THE most important part of my skincare routine and when I ran out I knew I could run to Superdrug and repurchase this, because I did not want to go without. Secondly, I finished my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I cannot remember the last time I finished a foundation! This is, without a doubt, my favourite drugstore foundation. It bl...

July Empties

Ahhh another month another empties blog. I actually got through quite a bit of makeup this month, which is unusual for me as it's usually skincare I crank through.  The first product I used up was my beloved Glossier Futuredew. I didn't realise how much I loved this until it was gone. My makeup feels so much different without this as a base and I do miss it as part of my makeup routine. I have a few other primers to get through but I will definitely repurchase this one in the future. The second product I used was my benefit liquid eyeliner. I did like this liner; it's opaque, the felt tip is quite nice and it lasted such a long time before drying up. I do prefer brush tipped eyeliners as I find with hooded eyes my winged eyeliner always looks a lot more precise than with a pen style. So I purchased the KVD liquid eyeliner instead, but the benefit eyeliner is great just not my favourite.  My third empty is my smash box primer water. I adore this spray, it comes out as a f...

Reviewing Bioderma's Hydrabio Range

If you've followed my blog for a few years, you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands. Their Micellar water is a product I refuse to live without and I've gone through too many to count. I was over the moon when Bioderma kindly sent me their Hydrabio Range* to try. The Hydrabio range is aimed at combating dehydrated, dry, skin, which I'm especially prone to in winter. 1. Hydrabio Makeup Removing Micellar Water Now, Bioderma's Sensibio micellar water is a holy grail skincare product in my collection. Believe it or not, I didn't realise Bioderma did other varieties of micellar water for different skin concerns. I've been using the Hydrabio micellar water for a few days and I do find my skin feels more hydrated and plump, compared to the sensibio one. It removes makeup just as well as the Sensibio micellar water and I find the Hydrabio micellar water to be a little more gentle and soothing. I would definitely repurchase the Hydrabio version in...
