Inflight Skincare Routine

Going on a plane is already beyond petrifying to me, the whole 37,000 feet in the air thing terrifies me and going through security, wondering if my bag is even on the right plane and if the security are going to tell me I have to throw away an expensive product because it doesn’t comply… But one of the scariest things about flying is the pressurised, recycled stifling air on the plane. The thought of what’s in that air sends shivers down my spine. Being acne prone, wearing makeup is a solid no for me on a plane. The air just sucks my skin dry and anything on top of it with it. So it’s no surprise when I wear makeup on a flight and wake up with three volcanos on my face. These are my favourite products to stop my skin freaking out, but making sure when I get off the plane I feel like my glowy self.

  1. Face Wipes - An absolute essential, I usually wipe my face with face wipes every two hours and then put my skincare on around the half way mark. I love any that are infused with oils as it just provides that extra moisture for my skin.
  2. Avene Thermal Mist - There are two great benefits to this mist. It hydrates your skin and reduces redness. The two things I want the most for on a plane. Make sure you get the travel sized version of this product, because trust me the security man will have no sleepless nights whipping this thing out of your hands, while you suffer on a long haul flight.
  3. Liz Earle Oil - This is actually a travel sized version and lasts forever. I love this for preventing acne and it really gets into my skin to combat redness and keep my skin glowy.
  4. Kiehls ultra facial cream - I round off my skincare by applying this all over my face and neck. It is a really good allrounder cream and I’ll put this on any areas that may feel dry.
  5. Kiehls luminiser - I usually start putting this on about half an hour before the plane lands, because I do not want to look like I’ve just sat on a long haul flight! This is amazing, it gives a luminosity to the skin without looking greasy or oily. It looks like you had the best facial in the world.
  6. Blistex Intensive Moisture Treatment Cherry - I usually just apply this throughout the flight, whenever my lips feel dry. The cherry flavour is one of the best, it doesn’t taste artificial and is my favourite lip balm at the minute (sorry balm dot com).
  7. Glossier Skin Tint Medium - This is the final step I put on and think it looks perfect for fooling everyone into thinking you have amazing skin! It’s perfect for putting on with your hands and just means you can get on with your day as soon as you get off the plane.

June Empties

I can't believe another month has rolled around and it's time for another monthly empties review. I got through six products this month (I know, I'm proud) and it was a bit of a mix of everything; Haircare, Skincare and makeup. Firstly, I used up my La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Sensitive SPF 50 Sunscreen. This isn't my favourite SPF but it does do the job. I wear three pumps of this on my face every day and it has lasted about 3 months. I think the formula is ok it can feel a bit sticky and takes a while to sink in but it isn't my favourite but it isn't a product I don't like. I have repurchased this, because SPF is THE most important part of my skincare routine and when I ran out I knew I could run to Superdrug and repurchase this, because I did not want to go without. Secondly, I finished my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I cannot remember the last time I finished a foundation! This is, without a doubt, my favourite drugstore foundation. It bl...

July Empties

Ahhh another month another empties blog. I actually got through quite a bit of makeup this month, which is unusual for me as it's usually skincare I crank through.  The first product I used up was my beloved Glossier Futuredew. I didn't realise how much I loved this until it was gone. My makeup feels so much different without this as a base and I do miss it as part of my makeup routine. I have a few other primers to get through but I will definitely repurchase this one in the future. The second product I used was my benefit liquid eyeliner. I did like this liner; it's opaque, the felt tip is quite nice and it lasted such a long time before drying up. I do prefer brush tipped eyeliners as I find with hooded eyes my winged eyeliner always looks a lot more precise than with a pen style. So I purchased the KVD liquid eyeliner instead, but the benefit eyeliner is great just not my favourite.  My third empty is my smash box primer water. I adore this spray, it comes out as a f...

Reviewing Bioderma's Hydrabio Range

If you've followed my blog for a few years, you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands. Their Micellar water is a product I refuse to live without and I've gone through too many to count. I was over the moon when Bioderma kindly sent me their Hydrabio Range* to try. The Hydrabio range is aimed at combating dehydrated, dry, skin, which I'm especially prone to in winter. 1. Hydrabio Makeup Removing Micellar Water Now, Bioderma's Sensibio micellar water is a holy grail skincare product in my collection. Believe it or not, I didn't realise Bioderma did other varieties of micellar water for different skin concerns. I've been using the Hydrabio micellar water for a few days and I do find my skin feels more hydrated and plump, compared to the sensibio one. It removes makeup just as well as the Sensibio micellar water and I find the Hydrabio micellar water to be a little more gentle and soothing. I would definitely repurchase the Hydrabio version in...
