After months of telling myself I don't need any more foundations and I have way too many as it is... you guessed it, I bought another one. I'd heard so much hype around this foundation and needed to give it a go!
First of all there are 40 shades... 40 shades!! that is incredible, as it is really rare than I can find a shade that is my colour and undertone. So I got the shade 120 and it really matches me perfectly. I found it did oxidise a little, but nothing crazy orange. It just oxidises to its true colour. I applied a small amount of the foundation tot my neck and went out into natural light for half an hour, so I could see which colour would be perfect after it oxidised.
The packaging of this product is incredible. The white lid and the clear bottle. I. Am. In. Love. Minimal, elegant, packaging is my favourite. The texture of the foundation, is watery and pretty runny, so I prefer to apply this with a brush, because a beauty blender just soaks it up!
The foundation claims to be buildable, long-wearing and medium to full coverage. I think it has more of a light coverage to begin with and can get to a decent medium coverage, but I wouldn't say it's full coverage. I have a few acne scars, which require a lot of work for them to be covered by this foundation.
Another thing I would say is this is not long wearing... at all. I've seen so many good reviews about how long wearing this foundation is, but cannot get it to stay on my face. I have tried using the foundation with the Fenty primer, my go-to Hangover Rx Primer and even no primer, and find by the end of the day it has literally slid off my face! All my acne scarring is visible around my jaw, cheeks and forehead by the end of the day.
Overall, this foundation is a game changer. The shade range is incredible and I've never been able to find a foundation shade that matches me so well. But, I just don't know how to get this to last on my face! I have even used powder and setting spray and still have oily skin by the end of the day. I have used far heavier and fuller foundations like the YSL all hours foundation, that last longer and provide a greater finish and coverage.
