Trying 'the world's most powerful facial'

This is one of those masks, that I've heard so much about and never give in to buying... until now. I ordered this on amazon and it arrived on the same day... which I still find absolutely crazy! Now I've seen so many amazing before and after pictures from using this mask and before and after pictures really get me. There's something about them that really makes me believe in the product and think this is really going to work!

The mask isn't ready made, it does require a bit of DIY which can be messy, but if you get a good face mask brush and bowl it really cleans up the whole process. The powder is made from 100% natural calcium bentonite clay, which is famous for it's healing properties and it's designed to be mixed with water or apple cider vinegar. I have tried both and have had pretty different results with each mix. But one things for sure this mask has a bit of an odd smell. It smells like rotten seaweed which probably isn’t something that you particularly look for in a face mask but you do get used to it.

Mixing with Water
So when you mix it with water, it doesn't really turn into a liquid and just doesn't go into a spreadable mix. I find it turns into a clumpy mix no matter how much water I add or how much clay I add. This means it takes so much longer to dry and I feel like the mask dries really inconsistencies. When I mixed it with water, I didn't really feel like I believed the hype. My skin was red and I didn't feel any of the pulsing the mask claimed to give. So if you have really sensitive skin this may be the better option.

Mixing with Apple Cider Vinegar
Now... This is incredible. When I mixed the powder with the vinegar, it was instantly more spreadable and the mix was more of a liquid. The mask went on really smoothly and evenly in thickness which meant it dried pretty evenly all over. I really felt my skin pulsing when I used the vinegar and also felt like the mask went a lot harder as oppose to using it with the water. When I removed the mask, my skin was red but this is normal and says this on the packaging. But my skin felt supper smooth and once the redness had gone down, I found the majority of my spots appeared a lot less red and weren't as painful.

This is a really affordable mask and does feel really powerful compared to masks of the same price. The only thing is it does leave my skin really red, which no matter how many times I read it's normal it does scare the heck out of me. But once you get used to it, it just feels and looks normal!

June Empties

I can't believe another month has rolled around and it's time for another monthly empties review. I got through six products this month (I know, I'm proud) and it was a bit of a mix of everything; Haircare, Skincare and makeup. Firstly, I used up my La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Sensitive SPF 50 Sunscreen. This isn't my favourite SPF but it does do the job. I wear three pumps of this on my face every day and it has lasted about 3 months. I think the formula is ok it can feel a bit sticky and takes a while to sink in but it isn't my favourite but it isn't a product I don't like. I have repurchased this, because SPF is THE most important part of my skincare routine and when I ran out I knew I could run to Superdrug and repurchase this, because I did not want to go without. Secondly, I finished my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I cannot remember the last time I finished a foundation! This is, without a doubt, my favourite drugstore foundation. It bl...

July Empties

Ahhh another month another empties blog. I actually got through quite a bit of makeup this month, which is unusual for me as it's usually skincare I crank through.  The first product I used up was my beloved Glossier Futuredew. I didn't realise how much I loved this until it was gone. My makeup feels so much different without this as a base and I do miss it as part of my makeup routine. I have a few other primers to get through but I will definitely repurchase this one in the future. The second product I used was my benefit liquid eyeliner. I did like this liner; it's opaque, the felt tip is quite nice and it lasted such a long time before drying up. I do prefer brush tipped eyeliners as I find with hooded eyes my winged eyeliner always looks a lot more precise than with a pen style. So I purchased the KVD liquid eyeliner instead, but the benefit eyeliner is great just not my favourite.  My third empty is my smash box primer water. I adore this spray, it comes out as a f...

Reviewing Bioderma's Hydrabio Range

If you've followed my blog for a few years, you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands. Their Micellar water is a product I refuse to live without and I've gone through too many to count. I was over the moon when Bioderma kindly sent me their Hydrabio Range* to try. The Hydrabio range is aimed at combating dehydrated, dry, skin, which I'm especially prone to in winter. 1. Hydrabio Makeup Removing Micellar Water Now, Bioderma's Sensibio micellar water is a holy grail skincare product in my collection. Believe it or not, I didn't realise Bioderma did other varieties of micellar water for different skin concerns. I've been using the Hydrabio micellar water for a few days and I do find my skin feels more hydrated and plump, compared to the sensibio one. It removes makeup just as well as the Sensibio micellar water and I find the Hydrabio micellar water to be a little more gentle and soothing. I would definitely repurchase the Hydrabio version in...
