Tried and Tested - Gallinée Skincare Review

If you've read any of my previous blogs you will know by now I have a bit of a skincare obsession (I say a bit but it's becoming a problem) so I was over the moon when Gallinée decided to send me some of their products to review. This brand is incredible, their products are focused around prebitocs, probiotics and lactic acid, which are designed to nourish your skin's natural bacteria. There products also have the same pH as the skin so means there are no harsh chemicals and nothing to strong or acidic on the skin.

Cleansing Bar

I have to say I'm not the biggest fan of bar soaps, I find they can be messy and sudsy and just become a general nightmare, but I loved this bar, I invested in a little soap dish and have had no problem with it. The bar also dries quick so doesn't get messy or too soapy. This is the only cleansing bar in my collection and I love it, I've been converted! I run the bar under water in between my hands and it forms such a good lather and foam and feels so calming and non - drying on the skin. My skin felt so soft and I have not stopped using this ever since. Huge thumbs up for this one.

Face Mask and Scrub
Scrubs scare me so much, I would say I get more scared of using a scrub than watching Nightmare On Elm Street alone in the dark. I just can't get past the idea of applying grit and sand to my face, but the one from Gallinée really surprised me as it felt so nourishing and didn't strip my skin, I prefer to use this alone as a scrub than a face mask as I think it just works better for my sensitive skin. But the biggest amazement was how this left my skin. My skin looked clear and had such a natural rosy, healthy glow after I'd used it! It is recommended for twice a week, but I use it once and find that works perfectly for my sensitive skin. Maybe I've conquered my fear!

Hydrating Face Cream
Face creams are my shizzle, I could buy every face cream in the world and still want to try more. The face cream from Gallinée is everything I want from a moisturiser - nourishing, check! moisturising, check! doesn't break me out, check! Makes my skin look glowing and luminous, check! check! check! This has become my gym bag staple, Because it absorbs so quick, I apply it before and after a gym session, as it keeps my skin so moisturised, but doesn't feel greasy. It does have a unique scent, which I did think was odd at first, but the more I applied it, the more I loved it and the slight smell of brown sugar is something I look forward to applying.

Hand Cream
Although by night I am a bit of an amateur beauty blogger, by day I am a musician, meaning my hands get really dry, hours of playing guitar in whatever the weather may be takes it's toll, so I love having a hand cream, well, to hand (sorry I couldn't resist). For me the main thing I look for in a hand cream is if it absorbs quick and if it moisturises my hands. This is perfect, It really does a heavy duty job of restoring my hands but doesn't linger or feel greasy, so I can just carry on playing my guitar and going about my day without having to wait for it to dry. So if you are looking for a hand cream that fulfils it's claims this one is definitely for you!

June Empties

I can't believe another month has rolled around and it's time for another monthly empties review. I got through six products this month (I know, I'm proud) and it was a bit of a mix of everything; Haircare, Skincare and makeup. Firstly, I used up my La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Sensitive SPF 50 Sunscreen. This isn't my favourite SPF but it does do the job. I wear three pumps of this on my face every day and it has lasted about 3 months. I think the formula is ok it can feel a bit sticky and takes a while to sink in but it isn't my favourite but it isn't a product I don't like. I have repurchased this, because SPF is THE most important part of my skincare routine and when I ran out I knew I could run to Superdrug and repurchase this, because I did not want to go without. Secondly, I finished my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I cannot remember the last time I finished a foundation! This is, without a doubt, my favourite drugstore foundation. It bl...

July Empties

Ahhh another month another empties blog. I actually got through quite a bit of makeup this month, which is unusual for me as it's usually skincare I crank through.  The first product I used up was my beloved Glossier Futuredew. I didn't realise how much I loved this until it was gone. My makeup feels so much different without this as a base and I do miss it as part of my makeup routine. I have a few other primers to get through but I will definitely repurchase this one in the future. The second product I used was my benefit liquid eyeliner. I did like this liner; it's opaque, the felt tip is quite nice and it lasted such a long time before drying up. I do prefer brush tipped eyeliners as I find with hooded eyes my winged eyeliner always looks a lot more precise than with a pen style. So I purchased the KVD liquid eyeliner instead, but the benefit eyeliner is great just not my favourite.  My third empty is my smash box primer water. I adore this spray, it comes out as a f...

Reviewing Bioderma's Hydrabio Range

If you've followed my blog for a few years, you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands. Their Micellar water is a product I refuse to live without and I've gone through too many to count. I was over the moon when Bioderma kindly sent me their Hydrabio Range* to try. The Hydrabio range is aimed at combating dehydrated, dry, skin, which I'm especially prone to in winter. 1. Hydrabio Makeup Removing Micellar Water Now, Bioderma's Sensibio micellar water is a holy grail skincare product in my collection. Believe it or not, I didn't realise Bioderma did other varieties of micellar water for different skin concerns. I've been using the Hydrabio micellar water for a few days and I do find my skin feels more hydrated and plump, compared to the sensibio one. It removes makeup just as well as the Sensibio micellar water and I find the Hydrabio micellar water to be a little more gentle and soothing. I would definitely repurchase the Hydrabio version in...
