Ranking my concealers from best to worst

Concealer is a true staple of my makeup routine, no matter how short on time I am, it's the one thing I can't skip, I literally use this like a magic wand to cover my dark circles, acne scars and even my skin tone ( I know I expect miracles ). So as any makeup obsessor does I decided to rank them from best to worst.

1. Bare minerals powder concealer
Hands down my all time favourite concealer. I don't know what bare minerals put in this powder but it's insane. The concealer is a power and I apply it with an eyeshadow crease brush, under my eyes and acne scars. It's the only concealer I own that really covers blemishes properly. It doesn't leave any texture and literally looks like it's just erased my blemish. It also looks amazing under the eyes and gives my skin an airbrushed 'good nights sleep effect'. It blends out seamlessly and stays put all day. This is such an under rated concealer, and if you're someone losing faith in a concealer actually being able to do it's job, this is definitely worth a try.

2. Collection lasting perfection concealer
This is the cheapest concealer I own and is something I've only picked up in the last month, but since I purchased it, I haven't reached for any of my high end concealers. I love the applicator, which is so easy to dot on and blend out. It does oxidise a little but I just get the shade lighter than I need. It does the job and is a really gorgeous liquid concealer. I think if you're on a budget or just looking for a new concealer, this is perfect, especially if you want something to throw in your bag and touch up on the go.

3.Glossier stretch concealer
This is a really undetectable concealer and I tend to use this when i'm having a 'good skin day', it has the teeniest amount of coverage and is enough to make me look awake. When it comes to covering scars this isn't the greatest, so I have to be having a great skin day to use this, but it really is beautiful, it has a skin like texture and you cannot see this on the skin. If you have nice skin and just want something to give you a little coverage and lift this is ideal.

4.Makeup Forever full cover concealer
This is a nice concealer, It covers and does a really good job... But I find this looks so cakey and thick throughout the day and just looks like it's melting off. Not to mention the stress the packaging gives me. The concealer comes in a tube which I just find to be a nightmare, I never squeeze out the right amount and have to scrub my hand to get the concealer off. So it does cover well and stays really nice for about 3-4 hours.

5.Mac pro-longwear concealer
I got this after seeing so much hype and really struggled to love it. The consistency is so thick, to the point when I apply it it looks really masky. It blends out nice but just feels so thick under my eyes. Like I physically struggle to look down when I wear this concealer. But if you like a thicker, full coverage makeup look, I think this would look really nice. But it just doesn't work for me over light coverage foundation.

6.NARS Soft matte complete concealer
this is another concealer that just feels so thick. It also feels a bit too matte, I know it is supposed to be matte but it makes my skin appear so flat and lifeless. I've nearly used a whole tub of this, as I just want to love it. It covers spots really nicely, but I can feel it on my face so tend to not use it everyday.

7. Bareminerals Bareskin complete coverage serum concealer
This concealer I had the complete opposite problem with, it was so oily. This slid off my face within about two hours and just turned me into an oily mess. It also didn't lie particularly well over my foundation, it almost looked like it separated and split under my eyes, so found myself touching it up with more concealer and powder every 2 hours, which then turned me into a cakey mess.

8. Benefit Boing concealer
For some reason I just can't get along with this concealer, I find it blends out to nothing and doesn't cover anything on my face. I was so disappointed as I'd heard rave reviews and hoped this would answer all my prayers. But it just looks so thick and you can see all my dark circles and scarring no matter how much I apply.

June Empties

I can't believe another month has rolled around and it's time for another monthly empties review. I got through six products this month (I know, I'm proud) and it was a bit of a mix of everything; Haircare, Skincare and makeup. Firstly, I used up my La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Sensitive SPF 50 Sunscreen. This isn't my favourite SPF but it does do the job. I wear three pumps of this on my face every day and it has lasted about 3 months. I think the formula is ok it can feel a bit sticky and takes a while to sink in but it isn't my favourite but it isn't a product I don't like. I have repurchased this, because SPF is THE most important part of my skincare routine and when I ran out I knew I could run to Superdrug and repurchase this, because I did not want to go without. Secondly, I finished my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I cannot remember the last time I finished a foundation! This is, without a doubt, my favourite drugstore foundation. It bl...

July Empties

Ahhh another month another empties blog. I actually got through quite a bit of makeup this month, which is unusual for me as it's usually skincare I crank through.  The first product I used up was my beloved Glossier Futuredew. I didn't realise how much I loved this until it was gone. My makeup feels so much different without this as a base and I do miss it as part of my makeup routine. I have a few other primers to get through but I will definitely repurchase this one in the future. The second product I used was my benefit liquid eyeliner. I did like this liner; it's opaque, the felt tip is quite nice and it lasted such a long time before drying up. I do prefer brush tipped eyeliners as I find with hooded eyes my winged eyeliner always looks a lot more precise than with a pen style. So I purchased the KVD liquid eyeliner instead, but the benefit eyeliner is great just not my favourite.  My third empty is my smash box primer water. I adore this spray, it comes out as a f...

Reviewing Bioderma's Hydrabio Range

If you've followed my blog for a few years, you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands. Their Micellar water is a product I refuse to live without and I've gone through too many to count. I was over the moon when Bioderma kindly sent me their Hydrabio Range* to try. The Hydrabio range is aimed at combating dehydrated, dry, skin, which I'm especially prone to in winter. 1. Hydrabio Makeup Removing Micellar Water Now, Bioderma's Sensibio micellar water is a holy grail skincare product in my collection. Believe it or not, I didn't realise Bioderma did other varieties of micellar water for different skin concerns. I've been using the Hydrabio micellar water for a few days and I do find my skin feels more hydrated and plump, compared to the sensibio one. It removes makeup just as well as the Sensibio micellar water and I find the Hydrabio micellar water to be a little more gentle and soothing. I would definitely repurchase the Hydrabio version in...
