5 City Break Makeup Essentials

Booking a City break is like pandora's box, will it rain? will it be hot? will it be hot and raining? As a result of this I always end up packing for every single weather option. It could be July and I would still pack a coat incase it snows. So I've listed the 5 items that are the best in all weather, great for travelling and are products that are reliable.

1.It Cosmetics CC Cream
One of my favourite products for travelling is this CC cream. It can be used in the day time for a sheer natural look, or built up at night for a glam look. The SPF of 50 is also great for in the day time, and it doesn't fade over the day. I love products that are multi use and save time, this has colour correcting properties, reduces dark spots and is really hydrating. This is perfect for walking around a city come rain or shine.

2.Bronzing Drops
My one true saviour! My bronzing drops were an extra item I used to pack if I had any space left, but they have now become a key staple in any vacation trip. Instead of having to take any extra foundations, on the chance I catch a tan, I use bronzing drops and add them to my foundation, they don't darken your foundation but add a really nice layer of warmth and 'I've just caught the sun' effect to the skin. They are also amazing for mixing with primer and just putting a sheer skin tint over the top.

3.Tinted Lip Balm
There is nothing worse than being in a busy city and seeing the ruins of what once was a perfect liquid lipstick. When travelling I love to be able to throw something in a bag and top it up without even needing a mirror. Tinted lip balms are the best for this, you can just apply it on a bus, on a train, walking around, with no need for a mirror. They also look so natural, like no makeup, makeup.

4.Hydrating Face Mist
Another essential is a facial mist, this acts as a setting spray, something to cool down when it's getting hot. I usually take a big bottle and decant some of it into a small one, for putting in a handbag in the day. This is a perfect way of making sure your makeup stays perfect, but your not over heating.

5.A Beauty Blender and Case
Beauty blenders are amazing for travelling, you can apply pretty much any cream makeup product with this and even use it with powder. I also find buying a beauty blender case really helpful, you can get these from Primark, these are amazing! I can put the blender in my bag and take it with me to pat away any oil or set makeup with powder and it won't get dirty or split or get bacteria on it.

June Empties

I can't believe another month has rolled around and it's time for another monthly empties review. I got through six products this month (I know, I'm proud) and it was a bit of a mix of everything; Haircare, Skincare and makeup. Firstly, I used up my La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Sensitive SPF 50 Sunscreen. This isn't my favourite SPF but it does do the job. I wear three pumps of this on my face every day and it has lasted about 3 months. I think the formula is ok it can feel a bit sticky and takes a while to sink in but it isn't my favourite but it isn't a product I don't like. I have repurchased this, because SPF is THE most important part of my skincare routine and when I ran out I knew I could run to Superdrug and repurchase this, because I did not want to go without. Secondly, I finished my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I cannot remember the last time I finished a foundation! This is, without a doubt, my favourite drugstore foundation. It bl...

July Empties

Ahhh another month another empties blog. I actually got through quite a bit of makeup this month, which is unusual for me as it's usually skincare I crank through.  The first product I used up was my beloved Glossier Futuredew. I didn't realise how much I loved this until it was gone. My makeup feels so much different without this as a base and I do miss it as part of my makeup routine. I have a few other primers to get through but I will definitely repurchase this one in the future. The second product I used was my benefit liquid eyeliner. I did like this liner; it's opaque, the felt tip is quite nice and it lasted such a long time before drying up. I do prefer brush tipped eyeliners as I find with hooded eyes my winged eyeliner always looks a lot more precise than with a pen style. So I purchased the KVD liquid eyeliner instead, but the benefit eyeliner is great just not my favourite.  My third empty is my smash box primer water. I adore this spray, it comes out as a f...

Reviewing Bioderma's Hydrabio Range

If you've followed my blog for a few years, you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands. Their Micellar water is a product I refuse to live without and I've gone through too many to count. I was over the moon when Bioderma kindly sent me their Hydrabio Range* to try. The Hydrabio range is aimed at combating dehydrated, dry, skin, which I'm especially prone to in winter. 1. Hydrabio Makeup Removing Micellar Water Now, Bioderma's Sensibio micellar water is a holy grail skincare product in my collection. Believe it or not, I didn't realise Bioderma did other varieties of micellar water for different skin concerns. I've been using the Hydrabio micellar water for a few days and I do find my skin feels more hydrated and plump, compared to the sensibio one. It removes makeup just as well as the Sensibio micellar water and I find the Hydrabio micellar water to be a little more gentle and soothing. I would definitely repurchase the Hydrabio version in...
