10 Tips For Packing A Carry On Liquids Bag

Packing a liquids bag used to be my worst nightmare, cramming all of my makeup, skincare and hair products into a tiny bag would require a miracle. Ever since I put a lipstick in the wrong place and was held up for an hour at airport security, I was determined to never let it happen again. I found the best way of saving space, packing the essentials and travelling through security like grease lightening! Below are my 9 tips to pack the perfect carry on liquids bag.

1. Invest in a quart size bag
You can find these in most drugstore shops for under £5, mine is from super drug and has took me all over Europe, these bags are the correct size and MUST be clear. If the bag is any bigger than this, you may be asked to purchase one at the airport, and believe me they are not cheap!
2. Use samples
Samples are like the holy grail of travelling with liquids. These are ideal for a long weekend and can be thrown out when finished. Any samples I receive I stash in a makeup bag and scavenge through it whenever I am travelling. These are a great way to save space.

3.Invest in travel sized items
Most brands do your favourite products in specific sizes for travelling. Investing in these may seem pointless, but you can refill them with your favourite product over and over again. I love being able to grab them and know I can just put them in my bag.
4.Do you really need to take 20 lipsticks?
I am the worst when it comes to lipsticks, I could go for a weekend break and still find a reason to bring 14 lipsticks. I really restrain myself when it comes to lipstick and just take a day time and evening colour. This is a great way to save space and just take what you need and what you will wear.
5.Prioritise the essentials
When packing start by picking what you cannot live without. This makes it easier to see what else you can squeeze in your bag as extras. To me my bronzing drops aren't essential, so they go at the bottom of the list, but if i have space I'll take them.
6.Look for alternatives
If you're struggling for space look at other options, such as solid perfume, solid shampoo bars and solid body wash are just a few options. My personal favourite is Bioderma's Micellar cleansing wipes. These are a great alternative to the traditional micellar water, I love and I know it won't break my skin out.
7.Invest in a perfume pod
These are the best! Finding samples of my favourite perfume is hard, but with this you can take whatever your perfume of choice may be. you just place the red section over the perfume and pump, then it sucks up your favourite perfume. This saves so much space and is ideal.
8.Use tube foundation
Tube foundations are great, travel friendly, easy to throw in a bag and they do not smash, they're not messy and just all in all better to travel with.
9.Use small tubs
Any samples I can't find, I pump into small tubs, these save so much space and are great for if your favourite foundation is in a glass bottle, or if you just want to save some space.
10.make sure everything you take is under 100ml
THIS IS SO IMPORTANT! No liquid can be over 100ml, items over 100ml will be confiscated, so make sure the liquid it is in a container under 100ml!!!!

June Empties

I can't believe another month has rolled around and it's time for another monthly empties review. I got through six products this month (I know, I'm proud) and it was a bit of a mix of everything; Haircare, Skincare and makeup. Firstly, I used up my La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Sensitive SPF 50 Sunscreen. This isn't my favourite SPF but it does do the job. I wear three pumps of this on my face every day and it has lasted about 3 months. I think the formula is ok it can feel a bit sticky and takes a while to sink in but it isn't my favourite but it isn't a product I don't like. I have repurchased this, because SPF is THE most important part of my skincare routine and when I ran out I knew I could run to Superdrug and repurchase this, because I did not want to go without. Secondly, I finished my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I cannot remember the last time I finished a foundation! This is, without a doubt, my favourite drugstore foundation. It bl...

July Empties

Ahhh another month another empties blog. I actually got through quite a bit of makeup this month, which is unusual for me as it's usually skincare I crank through.  The first product I used up was my beloved Glossier Futuredew. I didn't realise how much I loved this until it was gone. My makeup feels so much different without this as a base and I do miss it as part of my makeup routine. I have a few other primers to get through but I will definitely repurchase this one in the future. The second product I used was my benefit liquid eyeliner. I did like this liner; it's opaque, the felt tip is quite nice and it lasted such a long time before drying up. I do prefer brush tipped eyeliners as I find with hooded eyes my winged eyeliner always looks a lot more precise than with a pen style. So I purchased the KVD liquid eyeliner instead, but the benefit eyeliner is great just not my favourite.  My third empty is my smash box primer water. I adore this spray, it comes out as a f...

Reviewing Bioderma's Hydrabio Range

If you've followed my blog for a few years, you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands. Their Micellar water is a product I refuse to live without and I've gone through too many to count. I was over the moon when Bioderma kindly sent me their Hydrabio Range* to try. The Hydrabio range is aimed at combating dehydrated, dry, skin, which I'm especially prone to in winter. 1. Hydrabio Makeup Removing Micellar Water Now, Bioderma's Sensibio micellar water is a holy grail skincare product in my collection. Believe it or not, I didn't realise Bioderma did other varieties of micellar water for different skin concerns. I've been using the Hydrabio micellar water for a few days and I do find my skin feels more hydrated and plump, compared to the sensibio one. It removes makeup just as well as the Sensibio micellar water and I find the Hydrabio micellar water to be a little more gentle and soothing. I would definitely repurchase the Hydrabio version in...
