How To Build An Acne Skincare Routine From The Ordinary

When I first stumbled across the brand The Ordinary, I was hooked. I loved the packaging, the minimalist look, the price point... but I was beyond overwhelmed with the amount of products and where to even start, on attempting to build a skincare routine. I felt as though I had built a lego house and had been asked to build a palace for the Queen... So after months of researching, I thought I'd share my steps on how to build a skincare routine especially for acne and scarring. My skin has improved so much since adopting these steps and researching which products would work for me!

AM
1- I start with my normal go to cleanser, Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
2-After this I use the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution. This is designed to reduce redness and target congested pores I just put about two drops all over my skin!
3 - If I have any breakouts I love to put a tiny amount of the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% on the spot, as I feel like it really protects my spots from makeup and treats them throughout the day!
4 - For moisturiser I use the Natural Moisturising Factors + HA , just to round everything off. This is light weight and perfect for morning and evening.
5 - SPF! Some of these products can make your skin sensitive to the sun, so make sure to put on an SPF. I love the Glossier Sun Shield SPF 30
6 - Although this is more of a makeup step, The Ordinary's High Spreadability Fluid Primer, is by far my favourite primer ever. It has become my holy grail, It makes my skin look so airbrushed and all my foundations sit beautifully on top of it... and it's only £5.50!

PM
1 - My good old Liz Earle Cleanse And Polish to remove makeup and cleanse
2 - I use the Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. This is a really nice toner, that brightens my skin and evens out my skin tone. This is a really good dupe for Glossier's Solution. I only use this in the evening as it is a liquid exfoliant, so like to use it once a day.
3 - Probably my favourite product from The Ordinary is the Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%. This has truly changed my skin. I have a large number of deep set acne scars, that just love to hang around. This is the only product I have found that within a week of using, my acne scars are fading! They haven't gone, but Rome was certainly not built in a day. I use this only on the areas of my face that are scarred or dull, that need some assistance!
4 - On top of this I use the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution. I don't really use this as a spot treatment, but use it on areas that have spots, as I find it stops the spot spreading!
5 - Rounding everything off with the Natural Moisturising Factors + HA .
6 - Just before I go to bed I have been putting on the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG, which is essentially an eye serum. This has become my new favourite and replaced my old favourite, the bare minerals Eye Gel. This stuff is strong, but really improves dark circles!

Bioderma Sensibio Range Review - PR

If you've been around for a long time you'll know Bioderma is one of my favourite skincare brands and they were kind enough to send me their Sensibio range to try out.  The Bioderma Sensibio Micellar water needs no introduction. It's a staple in so many makeup artists routines and it's easy to see why. I've gone through so many of these micellar waters and nothing quite compares for me. This is the foundation of my morning skincare and is just enough cleansing without stripping my face. It's such a beautiful formula that leaves my skin looking super refreshed.  I also received a few goodies I haven't tried before including the Sensibio eye contour gel . This really surprised me as I usually steer towards creams when it comes to eye cream, but I was super impressed with the gel. It feels more like a creamy gel and glides beautifully under the eyes and makes the perfect base for concealer. I've actually been using this in the morning as I find the gel i...

Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk'r Bronzer - Pale Skin Review

I had been dying to purchase one of these bronzers since they came out and after months of resisting finally caved in! There are 8 shades which is great as there is a large range to choose from, depending on how you like your bronzer. Naturally I am quite pale and for reference I am the shade 120 in the Fenty Foundation and 150 Buff in Revlon's colour stay foundation, and even in summer, I never really change that much from these shades. From being so pale, the fear of the bronzer is real, I haven't found any that look natural and don't leave me looking orange, muddy, or like i have a some kind of smudge on my face. So I decided to try the lightest bronzer Fenty Beauty had to offer, Inda Sun. From swatching the shade appears pretty neutral and light, it doesn't have a red undertone that can leave pale skin looking orange. I also love the gold packaging and how luxury and sleek it feels. I used the same brush I would normally use for bronzer which is my real tech...

Isle Of Paradise Self- Tanning Water Review

So throughout the year, I am pretty much Casper the ghost when it comes to having a tan and when summer comes round, I just can't face my translucent legs any longer... bring on the tan! So usually my go to is Bondi Sands, but I was just drawn to the uniqueness of the tanning mist! This comes in three colours, designed to match your skin tone which is pretty cool, there's a pink (light) , green (medium) and purple (dark). I am pale but have an olive undertone to my skin so decided to go for medium because usually the lightest ones don't show up on my skin particularly well. So I did all the usual steps of tanning, 24 hours earlier I exfoliated my skin and moisturised (especially around my ankles and wrists) and then I got down to actually applying it. When you spray this stuff, you're supposed to spray it from a reasonable distance and just keep spritzing until you're basically soaked in the stuff. I had a really hard time getting this to work and I was so dis...
